For B2B sales professionals and their leaders - UAE and the region

You don't lose the negotiation at the table. You lose it before you sit down.

The fear hasn't gone anywhere. The demands are more extreme than ever. But confidence isn't a personality trait - it is built through preparation and practice. In four weeks.

36years in sales
38countries delivered in
100,000sprofessionals trained

Cohort starts Wednesday October 14th • Four consecutive Wednesdays • Limited to 30 seats

Let's name what actually happens at the table now.

The negotiation doesn't happen in a boardroom any more. It happens in a message.

Since February 28th, 2026, every deal in this region got re-opened. Budgets went under the microscope. Procurement got sharper. And the opening line of almost every conversation became: "Give us your best price."

The demand no longer arrives across a table where you can read a face. It arrives on WhatsApp at 9:40 in the evening: "Your price is too high." Five words. No context. No meeting. And a decision you have to make alone, right now, with the whole quarter riding on it.

And the pressure lands on you - not the market, not the buyer. On you.

Do I hold, or do I drop?
Is this the deal I can't afford to lose?
If I push back, will they walk?

These are not questions about the deal. They are questions born from fear. And when fear makes the decision, the buyer doesn't have to beat you. You beat yourself.

Here is where it gets expensive.

Watch a sales team negotiate under fear and you'll see the same six things every time:

  • Discounts offered before the customer has even asked for one
  • The first push is the last push - one "too expensive" and the price moves
  • Silence gets filled with a concession, because silence feels like losing
  • The hard conversation - the price increase, the payment terms - gets avoided or softened
  • Concessions are given with nothing asked in return
  • They negotiate harder with their own manager than they ever do with the buyer

Your team is not losing to better negotiators. They are losing to their own nervous system. And every concession given from fear becomes the new baseline for the next deal. Every. Single. Time.

This is not a technique problem.

Most negotiation training teaches tactics. Then the buyer applies pressure, and the tactics evaporate - because you cannot out-negotiate your own belief system.

I call it the Ego Reflex.

When the demand lands and the tension spikes, the ego does one of three things automatically. None of them is a decision. All of them cost you money.

The Cave

"Fine - ten percent. Let's just close it."

Relieve the tension by giving. It feels like progress. It is surrender, and the buyer now knows exactly how much pressure it takes.

The Fight

"Our price is fair. Let me explain why."

Defend, justify, argue. You win the argument and lose the deal - and the relationship with it.

The Freeze

"...okay. Whatever works for you."

Go quiet. Agree to anything. Get out of the room. The discomfort ends; so does the margin.

Each reflex is the ego protecting itself - from rejection, from conflict, from the fear of losing. They run before you have chosen anything.

But here is the good news. They can be broken. Not with willpower. With preparation, so you have a position to hold - and practice, so holding it becomes familiar. In four weeks.

I almost dropped my price to a client I'd served for five years.

I want to tell you something that happened to me. Not to a client. To me - the person who teaches this.

A client I have worked with for five years - their sales team, their account managers, their distribution people - asked me to build a programme for their customer service team. I knew their business the way you know a place you've walked through a hundred times. They opened their doors for a needs analysis. I listened to the calls. The design was clear. I knew exactly how to help them.

Then February 28th happened. The deal went quiet through March - alive, but quiet. And then, one evening, a message from the customer service manager:

Hi Ramez, we reviewed the proposal. Your price is too high.

I'll be honest about what happened in my body. Deals across the region had stalled. This was the only live conversation I had. And every instinct said: drop the price. Save the deal. Don't lose this.

That was the Cave, reaching for the keyboard.

Then I stopped. And I thought - not arrogantly, but honestly - there is nobody who knows their business the way I know their business, and nobody who can deliver the outcome they actually need. They had no real alternative. I knew that because I had done the work.

So I took a breath, and I typed one question:

Thank you for coming back to me. I'm just wondering - when you say we're expensive, what are you comparing us with?

Then silence.

And more silence.

I did not fill it. I wanted to. Everything in me wanted to add "but of course we can look at the number." I didn't.

The manager never replied. His boss did. Two days later, he reached out directly and told me they were moving forward.

At the original price. Not a dirham less.

I nearly damaged a five-year relationship - and gave away margin I didn't need to - out of fear. And it was understandable fear. That's the point. The fear is always understandable. It is still the wrong thing to let decide.

Price is seldom what people buy. They buy confidence.

Here is what actually saved that deal - and it wasn't nerve.

  • I had done the preparation, so I knew my position was strong before the message ever arrived.
  • I knew they had no real alternative - so I knew my walk-away was stronger than theirs.
  • I did not react to the anchor. "Too high" is an opening, not a verdict.
  • I asked one calibrated question instead of defending or discounting.
  • I held the silence, and let the question do the work.

That is not a personality. That is a framework. And it is exactly what these four weeks install.

Introducing

No Ego-tiation
The Elite Negotiator Programme - four weeks, live, on Zoom

Built for B2B sales professionals who have to hold their price with buyers who are trained to make them drop it.

This is not a one-day workshop that fades by Friday. It is not a recorded course watched at 1.5x and forgotten. It is not theory, and it is not motivation.

It is a behavioural reset for the negotiating table - and a practice ground. You bring one real, upcoming negotiation on day one and work it for four weeks, until the framework is something you do, not something you know about.

Prepare

Confidence from a position

Most people walk into a negotiation with a price and a hope. You'll walk in with an anchor, a list of things you can trade, and a walk-away you've already decided. Fear has nothing to grip when the position is already built.

Practise

Confidence from repetition

The extreme demand, the hostile push, the silence - you will meet them in the room first, on camera, with feedback, so that when they arrive in your real deal your nervous system has already been there.

By the end of this programme, you will:

  • Walk into any negotiation with a prepared position - anchor, tradeables, walk-away - instead of a price and a hope
  • Hold your price when they say "too expensive", and know exactly what to say next
  • Trade instead of concede: never give something without getting something
  • Stay calm and in control when the demand is extreme or the buyer turns hostile
  • Use silence as a tool, not something to escape
  • Handle price increases, payment terms and last-minute demands without caving
  • Close without giving away the margin you spent all year building

Founding credit of AED 1,000 available until September 30th

Every session. Every date. Every time.

All sessions run live on Zoom. The roleplays, the hot seats, and the coaching happen in the room.

Your four-week journey

One framework - Prepare, Open, Lead, Close - one week at a time, applied to a deal you are actually working.

1Prepare

The negotiation is won before you sit down

Wednesday October 14th | 3:00 - 5:00 PM

We start where the fear lives: the need to be liked, the fear of losing the deal, the ego that caves or fights. Then the cure begins. You will build your first real preparation sheet - your BATNA and theirs, the zone where a deal is possible, the things you can trade, the walk-away you've decided in advance, and the anchor you'll open with.

Core models: BATNA / ZOPA, the Preparation Sheet. Key exercise: bring a live deal and build your position - live, with coaching.

2Open

Anchor or be anchored

Wednesday October 21st | 3:00 - 5:00 PM

Whoever anchors first shapes the whole negotiation. You'll learn to open with intent, to counter-anchor without flinching, and to ask the calibrated questions that shift the frame - including the one to use when "your price is too high" lands on your phone. And you'll learn to read the buyer's playbook, so the pressure looks like what it is: a move, not a verdict.

Core models: Anchoring and counter-anchoring, calibrated questions. Key exercise: the opening roleplay - you receive the extreme demand and respond, on camera.

3Lead

Trade, don't concede

Wednesday October 28th | 3:00 - 5:00 PM

The single most powerful tool in any negotiation: If you... then we... Never give without getting. You'll learn multi-variable trading - price, volume, terms, service, timing - and give-get sequencing, so a concession becomes a trade. And you'll practise the emotional intelligence to stay calm when they push: labelling, mirroring, and holding your ground while the buyer tries to turn you into a commodity.

Core models: If You / Then We, the Trade Matrix, foundation EI. Key exercise: a live trading roleplay under pressure - the buyer will not make it easy.

4Close

Close without caving

Wednesday November 4th | 3:00 - 5:00 PM

Most margin is lost in the last five minutes. You'll learn to close with the deal intact, to handle the last-minute demand, to know when to walk - and the part almost no one teaches: internal alignment. How to negotiate inside your own company so that your manager, finance and the quarter-end push don't force you to cave outside it.

Core models: Closing without concession, internal alignment. Key exercise: your toughest live negotiation, handled live - with a written plan you take into the real meeting.

The manager track - built into every session

Your reps don't give away margin. You approve it.

A rep rarely gives 5% on their own authority. They come to you, and you sign it off - in seconds, under pressure, with nothing asked in return. Which means the single biggest point of margin leakage in most sales teams is not the negotiating table. It is the manager's desk on a Friday afternoon.

The Leader + Team track exists to close that leak. Managers attend every session alongside their reps - in the same room, at the same time - and stay for a private 30-minute huddle after each one.

Week 1 - Coach the prep, not the deal

You'll stop rescuing deals at the end and start coaching preparation at the start. The rep's prep sheet becomes your coaching tool.

Your action: one 15-minute pre-negotiation prep review with a rep. Don't touch the deal. Only the preparation.

Week 2 - You are the anchor

When a rep brings you "they want 15% off", your first reaction sets the tone for the whole team. If you flinch, they learn the demand is real.

Your action: when a rep reports a hard demand, ask only two questions - "What's our position?" and "What are we trading?"

Week 3 - No concession without a "then we"

This is where managers leak the most. "Fine, give them the five percent" - approved in seconds, nothing in return. The framework dies at your desk unless you model it.

Your action: one rule for your team - no discount request is approved without the trade attached.

Week 4 - Keeping it alive

You are the internal negotiation. If you cave to finance or the quarter-end push, your team learns that caving is how it's done. Then: the reinforcement plan for week five and beyond.

Your action: a 30-day plan - two upcoming negotiations, two prep reviews, and one "held the line" win celebrated publicly.

You also receive a Manager Huddle Guide each week - scripts, an observation checklist, and the single coaching action. No preparation required. And through the Negotiation Habit Builder app, you score your rep's negotiation behaviours alongside their own self-score - the gap between the two is your coaching conversation.

Training without manager reinforcement retains less than 20% after 30 days. The huddle exists for one reason: to make sure what your team learns on a Wednesday survives your desk on the Friday.

What happens when the ego steps out of the room.

Real deals, from people who took these frameworks into live negotiations. Every figure is theirs.

AED 15,000 not given away

The managing director of an exhibitions company had a client go quiet, then push hard on price. She had AED 15,000 of discount in her back pocket and every instinct to use it. Instead she paused, acknowledged the concern, anchored on the value - and held the silence. The client signed. Not a dirham of the discount was used.

"I used pause, acknowledge, and anchoring from the No-Ego-tiation seminar. I would have given a discount out of the fear of losing the client." - Harsha, Managing Director, exhibitions industry

"If you handle the shipping, we'll give an extra 5%."

Facing a major account pushing for more discount, Yahia stopped giving and started trading. Instead of another concession, he attached a condition - the customer takes on the shipping, and only then does the extra 5% move. A trade, not a gift. The deal advanced.

"Without STU I would have kept giving more discounts." - Yahia Jaber, Sales Manager, BLÜCHER

The issue was never the price

A sales manager probing a pharmacy chain's resistance discovered the real pain wasn't cost - it was cash flow. Instead of discounting, he restructured the payment terms. The result was a US$2.3 million deal, closed on value, not on price.

"The moment was when I diagnosed the pain and offered the solution - instead of getting disappointed and never offering it." - Mahmoud Amin, Sales Manager, Pharmatrade

€25,000 of discount - none of it used

A sales manager was authorised to give away €25,000 to save a deal. Before he did, he asked what was really behind the resistance. It wasn't the price - it was the upfront payment their European supply chain required. He offered thirty days' credit instead. The client paid in full. The discount stayed in the drawer.

Sales manager, food service - anonymised at their request

"Instead of immediately reducing the price, I focused on understanding the client's concerns. Before this, I would have lowered the price to win the deal."

Neha, Sales, exhibitions industry

"It transforms technical product-pushers into strategic consultants who can confidently navigate complex negotiations and protect margins by leading with business impact rather than price."

Ajeesh, Senior Service Sales Engineer, HVAC

"I would have been afraid to discuss the price increase openly because I thought I might lose the business. Instead, they understood - and approved the deal."

Jijil, Sales Team Leader, food service

"100% do it. The hard skills and structured framework to diagnose and close are brilliantly delivered, with relatable examples."

Why is the founding cohort AED 1,000 less?

Because it is the first open cohort. The frameworks are proven - inside companies across the region, and at Hult, where the negotiation course is rated 4.9 out of 5 - but October is the first time No Ego-tiation runs as a public programme. Founding members help us shape it, and in return pay AED 1,000 less and lock in the graduate rate on the Advanced programme for life. From the second cohort, the programme runs at its standard rate of AED 3,994 per rep.

And set the price against what is at stake. One held negotiation - the AED 15,000 discount that was never given, the 5% that became a trade instead of a gift - pays for the programme several times over.

Graduates of Selling Through Uncertainty

If you have completed STU, your graduate rate is yours on any No Ego-tiation cohort, regardless of date - AED 2,994 per rep and AED 3,994 per manager. As you already have the STU foundation, your bonus is a recording of the No Ego-tiation live masterclass plus graduate-rate access to the Advanced programme. Mention STU when you register.

Example - a team of 5 reps and 1 manager, founding cohort

5 reps × AED 2,994 = AED 14,970
1 manager × AED 3,994 = AED 3,994
Total investment: AED 18,964 + 5% VAT - Manager Huddles and the 1:1 deal-prep call included.

Prefer to split it? Every seat can be paid in two instalments - for a Sales Rep seat, that is 2 × AED 1,997. Ask when you register.

Questions you are probably asking

"I've already done Selling Through Uncertainty. Is this a repeat?"

No. STU resets what you believe about the market. No Ego-tiation is about what happens at the table - the frameworks are different, the exercises are different, and the deal you work is a live negotiation, not a pipeline. STU graduates get the founding rate on any cohort.

"I'm not a natural negotiator."

Nobody is. That is the whole premise. Confidence at the table is not a personality trait you either have or don't - it is the by-product of a prepared position and enough practice that the pressure feels familiar. Both are built in four weeks.

"My buyers are professional procurement people. Can four weeks really change that?"

Their playbook is finite - anchoring, the deadline squeeze, "we have three other suppliers", the nibble, the flinch. Once you can see the move, it stops working on you. Week 2 is built specifically around recognising and answering these under pressure.

"My team is busy. I can't take them off the road."

Four sessions. Two hours each. Wednesdays at 3pm, on Zoom. The homework is the live deal they are already working - it doesn't add work, it focuses the work.

"We've done negotiation training before. It didn't stick."

Most negotiation training is technique layered on top of fear. Under pressure, fear wins. This programme goes to the reflex first, then adds practice, a manager who coaches to it, and an app that keeps the behaviour alive after the last session. That is why it holds.

"What if I miss a session?"

Recordings are released to participants, so you can catch up. The certificate requires 3 of 4 live sessions, so you have one to spare - but the roleplays and hot seats only happen live.

"Is now really the time to invest?"

The autumn deal season - the annual renewals, the price-increase conversations - is weeks away. Every negotiation your team runs without a framework between now and then is margin gone for good, not deferred. The teams that prepare now will walk into those conversations with a position. The others will walk in with a price and a hope.

Since 2014 Sales Professor, Hult International Business School

Ramez Helou has spent 36 years building, leading and training sales organisations across 38 countries. He held senior commercial roles at Unilever Food Solutions and at Vector Marketing / CUTCO, where he ranked in the top 1% of performers globally before moving into full-time training and consulting.

He is the founder of The Academy for Sales Excellence, a Dubai-based institution that has trained thousands of sales professionals and leaders across the Middle East. Since 2014 he has taught International Negotiations on the Executive MBA at Hult International Business School, where participants rate the course 4.9 out of 5.

He built No Ego-tiation because he lived it - the WhatsApp message, the fear, the pull to drop the price - with a real client, in his own business, in the spring of 2026. He held. So can you.

"The best negotiators are not the ones with the lowest price or the loudest voice. They are the ones whose confidence was built before they sat down."

Let me be direct about what happens if you wait.

Concessions are not deferred. They are gone.

Every discount your team gives from fear this month is margin that does not come back - and worse, it becomes the new baseline. The buyer who got 10% under pressure in October will open at 15% in January. That is not a prediction. That is how anchoring works, and it works on you whether or not you know the word.

Meanwhile the annual deal season is coming. Contract renewals. Price-increase conversations. The autumn weeks where a year of relationship-building has to become a commercial result in a single meeting - and where a team that has spent all year nurturing has to suddenly become a team that trades.

While your team is negotiating without a framework:

  • Your buyers are being trained to negotiate against you - procurement invests in this every year
  • Every fearful concession is quietly resetting the price your customers expect to pay
  • The gap between what your team is worth and what they are charging is growing - invisibly, every week

Six months from now you will not have a negotiation problem. You will have a pricing problem across your whole book of business. And that is far more expensive to fix.

The demands will keep coming.
What changes is what you do when they land.

The client who told me my price was too high never stopped needing the programme. The only thing that froze, for a moment, was me. Your buyers still have problems to solve and budgets to spend. The question is whether your team walks into the conversation with a position - or a price and a hope.

Cohort starts Wednesday October 14th • Limited to 30 seats • Claim your AED 1,000 founding credit before September 30th

Not ready yet? Here's what to do:
1. Forward this page to whoever controls the sales or L&D budget in your organisation.
2. Ask us for the one-page programme summary, built for internal approvals.
3. Join the waitlist - no obligation, first to know about the next cohort.

The risk is ours.

Bring one real negotiation into the programme. Attend the sessions, submit your field commitments, and document that deal in your Real-World Negotiation Report - the framework you applied, and what happened.

If your report shows you applied the framework and the outcome did not improve - no better price, no trade in place of a concession, no margin protected - contact us within 30 days of completion and we will coach you one-to-one, at no cost, until it does.

The framework works when the work is done. The report is not gatekeeping - it is the proof the work was done, and it is what we coach from. The only thing that stops it working is the belief that it won't.
